Written Sept 2024: This blog has been alive since 2005! It started off as a MySpace blog and it has evolved to being a personal public journal primarily focused on travel, relationships, and what makes us happy.
In the months and years to come, we hope to use this blog to help promote the importance of our collective happiness. When we say “our”, it is not just that of our family but that of everyone that reads our blog. Be that through discussing the importance of relationships, inspiring crazy travel adventures, providing some dancing tips, or even sharing where to eat the best ice cream.
We’re a multicultural family, when not traveling, living in suburban Southern California neighborhood.
We’ve opted to keep this semi-anonymous for sake of security, maybe one day we’ll be more open. Who knows.
To give more background, the main author is me, Happy Guy. I’m originally from Guatemala and immigrated to the US when I was 9 years old. Since then I’ve lived in San Francisco Bay Area for most of my life with a few short stints in New York, Los Angeles, RTWT Trip #1, Euro Trip, South America Trip, and now San Diego. I’m an engineer turned silicon valley sales executive, and now on sabbatical to plan and take a trip around the world.
I’m accompanied by my lovely partner in crime and wife, Happy Gal. She’s originally from Iran but grew up in Sacramento and has made California her home with a few short stints in Spain, New York, SF, and now San Diego.
Our daughters are L (11) and A (9) and they love to travel. They’ll be guest post authors from time to time, be nice to them!

We’re a family of 4! We love to travel and live a life of fun, love, and adventure. Our current goal is to travel perpetually starting in 2020 (COVID stopped us and we are finally doing it in 2025!). We’ve done a year around the world before we had kids but one year was not enough!
We don’t know how we’ll achieve it but we’re saving, living frugally (but still enjoying life), and enjoying the time we have in this earth with family and friends!

About in 2012
We’re a couple addicted to travel. We’ve been to over 40 countries together and hope to continue to explore the world for the rest of our lives. When we’re not traveling, we live in the Bay Area (for now).
In addition to traveling, we love creating experiences for us and our friends. Wine tasting weekends, Tahoe getaways, or just a good get together with friends. We love to play tennis, ping pong, and soccer.
This blog initially started as a way to share our travels with our family during our round the world trip and also as an online journal so that when we’re older, we can look back and re-live some amazing moments. We continue to use as such but will expand to help motivate readers to travel and see the world!
